The midwestern and southern U.S. are regions with a rapidly growing interest in all things green and sustainable, and new green jobs have been created with Sustainable Community Media opening offices in Louisville, Ky., and at Serenbe, in Chattahoochee Hills, Ga.

This newly formed media group is creating new green jobs and is the parent company of popular web portal ProudGreenHome. Bob Fincher is publisher and CEO. Bob was a founding investor and executive vice president of Louisville-based Networld Alliance, a 12-year-old online media organization where ProudGreenHome was created. Bob combined his nearly 20 years of experience in the building industry with his expertise in online media to form Sustainable Community Media.

“We’re thrilled to be here in America’s core, in the Midwest and the South. This region surrounds us with amazing energy and we have cool partners we’re working with to help us turn Sustainable Community Media into the pinnacle of all things green and sustainable,” Bob Fincher said.

Sustainable Community Media features both a Louisville office and a location at Serenbe, a 1,000-acre sustainable community that is the site of the next HGTV Green Home Giveaway. It is also working closely with Bisig Impact Group, a highly successful integrated marketing company in Louisville.

A sustainable community such as Serenbe offers its residents the ability to live in energy efficient homes and participate in their community with a focus on well being, balanced growth, sustainability, green building, organic farming, arts and culture, and being environmentally wise. In Serenbe, there are private homes, unique shops, commercial space and an equestrian center, as well as the Inn at Serenbe and Serenbe Farms.

“ProudGreenHome launched in October last year, and because of the importance of green building news and the increasingly environmentally conscious world in which we live, we were able to create a new company to focus solely on these timely subjects. We are dedicated to sustainability and green living, and combining the integrity of the business with the lives of its employees,” Fincher said.

Rawson Haverty, co-founder of Serenbe, said, “I’m looking forward to working with Sustainable Community Media as it dedicates itself to enriching the lives of others by helping with sustainable and green homebuilding efforts. This is the ideal time to launch such a company, as interest in green living increases exponentially as ProudGreenHome has already proven.”

Chip Dumsdorf, chief creative officer of Bisig Impact Group, said, “We look forward to helping Sustainable Community Media and ProudGreenHome explore sustainable topics in creative new ways. This is a great opportunity to connect emerging media like interactive online video with top-notch content to create great value for consumers, marketers and sustainable products.”

Bisig Impact Group, an integrated, innovative marketing company, has a long history of environmental and corporate social responsibility communications for companies such as Toyota, Brown-Forman and Do Something Green.
